Bibiani GoldStars endorses 18-club National Division One League
Chief Executive Officer of Bibiani GoldStars, John Kwasi Adu has endorsed the Ghana Football Association’s move to reduce the number of clubs in the National Division One league from 48 to 18.
According to him in an interview with Beat Fm ,he said this is a step in the right direction and will aid the development of football in the country.
The Ghana FA have announced they are in the process of setting up a committee that will advise the Executive Council on the format and other modalities to successfully transition the National division league into an 18-club competition in accordance with the association’s statutes.
Since the announcement was made, several club owners and administrators in the division one league have opposed the move describing it as deleterious to their survival and inimical to the growth of the game in the country .
However, Kwasi Adu who leads Bibiani GoldStars, a division one league outfit disagrees with such claims.
He agreed that this move will rather help put the lower leagues in the spotlight and enhance the development of the game at that level.
