PLAYER PROFILE: The football life of former Karela United wonder-kid Evans Etti.
Evans Etti is a Ghanaian footballer who plays as a forward for Division I club Accra Lions. He is best regarded as one of the best Nzema players of his generation and among the best finishers in Division I football.
EARLY LIFE
Evans Etti was born to Mr. Joseph Etti and Madam Betty Etti all from Nuba in the Jomoro district.He was born on 22 August 2001. Etti begun his education with Nuba DA and completed in 2011,He was the captain for his school team, He continued his secondary school education at Annor Ajaye Senior High School where he was an integral part from 2012.He was later named the school captain and sports prefect in the 2013/14 academic year.
STYLE OF PLAY
Evans Etti possesses an explosive and accurate shot with great acceleration. He is a physically strong player who is able to hold up the ball and provide key passes. Etti has good dribbling and technical skills as well as good crosser of the ball having set up many goals for his teammates . He is also a penalty specialist.
PLAYING CAREER
Evans Etti begun his football journey with Tikobo I Division II power house TanoeAkuba Sporting Club in Jomoro. TanoeAkuba are known of their ability to nurture young talents, especially Augustine Ofori (Kakadinho)of Nzema Kotoko,Thomas Ediamamede Nyamekeh(Gomez),Francis Kabenla and Abednego Atakpa. Etti went on to score thirteen goals in ten Division II Matches and added fifteen goals in friendly games before joining Karela United in the 2016/2017 season.
KARELA UNITED
Evans Evans joined Karela United then in Division I in the 2016-2017season after his mouth-watering exploit with TanoeAkuba S.C in the 2015-16 Division II season.Etti continued his fireworks with Karela United netting about fourteen goals in the pre-season with one coming against Royal Sanzule f.c at the CAM park and another twelve goals in friendly games. Etti found live Unmanageable at Karela with their top Arsenal’s like Sampson Eduku,Solomon Sarfo Taylor,Diawusie Taylor,Amos Kofi Nkrumah,Dominic Eshun,Vincent Bekoe,Samuel Abekah,Jean Noel Amon Kpolley and Isaac Nana Danso.
Evans Etti was a registered player in Karela United history making team that qualified for the Ghana premier league in the 2016-17 season. Etti was shipped out on loan to Nkoranza Warriors in 2019.
NKORANZA WARRIORS
Evans Etti was signed by Nkoranza Warriors on-loan in 2019 with the recommendation of his former Karela Coach Frimpong Manso. He went on to form a deadly partnership with Asante Kotoko newboy Kwame Opoku. He netted four goals in the N.C special cup and added up an extra eleven goals in pre-season. In the 2019-20 season Etti scored two goals and provided three assists before the season was truncated hence being sold permanently to Accra Lions by Karela United.
