VIDEO: Jordan Ayew dedicates his Player of the Season accolade to his Godfather
Crystal Palace forward Jordan Ayew has offered his Player of the season gong to his mentor the late Mababa Pape Diouf.
Pape Diouf, is a former Journalist and Football agent who died on the 31 March, 2020 from the deadly global pandemic Coronavirus.
He was the President of French football club Olympique de Marseille between 2005-2009. He was the first black president of a top flight club in any of Europe’s top six leagues.
Jordan Ayew scooped three major awards at Crystal Palace End of Year’s Awards Viz; Player of the year, Player’s Player of the year and Goal of the season following an outstanding campaign for the Eagles. Ayew netted 9 times in 39 games for the South London club.
The 28-year old secured 37% of the total votes from almost 6,000 supporters to beat Vicente Guaita (28.2%) and Gary Cahill (16.7%) to scoop the top most award.
