Baba Mamaha inspired his side Legon Cities to their second consecutive home win after they thrashed free scoring Ashantigold to make the Ghana Premier league team of the week.
Goalkeeper – Richmond Ayi [Hearts of Oak] – Great Goalkeeping from the Former Techiman City, WAFA recruit whose singular performance saved the Continental club masters from returning to Accra with empty hands, Ayi made 3 critical saves in a game that saw the home side attacking in droves.he has made two consecutive appearance in our TOW.
Right back – Victor Oduro [Dreams FC] – Very delighted to watch, Oduro has now become every Ghana Premier league player’s nightmare, his fast paced focused forward play was a ‘hell’ for Liberty Professionals who could not stand him in a game that was totally dominated by the home side. He was the secret behind Dreams massive win over Liberty Professionals with his two major assists.
Left Back – Raddy Ovouka [Hearts of Oak] – Congolese-born star was the best player for Hearts of Clash against Berekum Chelsea.
it was Raddy who took control of the game, counter attacking the host, and delivering powerful passes that could have caused problems for the homeside.
Center Back – Ismal Ganiu [Asante Kotoko] – A Captain’s performance indeed from the Former Wa All Stars and Karela United defender, combining a double duty of Handling the deadly Yaya Mohammed, and clearing his lines was indeed a tough task for any player, but Ismail Ganiu made it look so easy on a day Aduana Stars played their hearts out. His regarded as one of the best central backs currently in the country.
Centre back – Kwaku Osei [Karela United] – He just announced his debut in the top flight with superb performance on the day. Osei was key in His side’s goalless draw vs Great Olympics, his aerial strength with clear vision on the ball.
6– Ushau Abu [Berekum Chelsea] – Super game from the young man in a ‘bigman’s’ game, Playing Hearts of Oak looks very difficult for all clubs, but Ushau made it look so simple with his class Act, pushing and propelling his team upfront on several occasions, Ushau was a tormentor of the Hearts defence
7– Samuel Bioh [Aduana] – What a night for the Diminutive midfielder, Bioh changed the face of the game after his second half introduction, took control of the midfield, produced a powerful thunderous shot that pierced the roof of the net, and the only goal in a tough night. The former Medeama SC Star was also delightful to watch for the “Ogya Boys”
8 – Baba Mahama [ Legon Cities] – A Goal, an Assist, and a great game by the former Asante Kotoko player, Baba Mahama took control of the game ensuring his side won with the highest margin of the week. His ability to control the pace of the game was excellent as well.
9 –Abass Mohammed [Medeama SC] – When Medeama SC needed him, he popped up and delivered just as was asked, Abass’ brace was all the Mauve and Yellows needed in a day Inter Allies came blazing from all angles. He scored the perfect goals that has kept Medeama in the run to make the first half of the league log. He was indeed a star player for the Yellow and Mauves side.
10. Agyenim Boateng[ Dreams FC] Totally on cloud nine for the Believers with his breathtaking pace and skills. He registered his first and second of the season for Dream’s 4-1 win over Liberty Proffessionals.
11 –Joseph Esso [ Dreams FC] – Terrific afternoon for the ‘Esso Effect,’ it was really his day at the Theater of Dreams, Esso commanded his Army to a super win, whiles grabbing a brace in there. He currently formed a superb partner with former DOL goal machine Agyenim Boateng.
