Evans Etti Happy with surprise Black Stars Call-up
Accra Lions young forward Evans Etti has disclosed he was surprised to see his name in the Black Stars squad for the final AFCON qualifiers.
The former Nkoranza Warriors Star was named in CK Akonnor’s 29-man squad for the Black Stars final AFCON qualifiers against South Africa and São Tomé this month.
Despite revealing he was unaware for the invitation, the young forward admitted the call-up came to him as a surprise.
“My call up to the Black stars came as a surprise to me, even though I have prepared my self for the U20 or U23 “ he told Samuel Enyan/ Riquelme in a private interaction on Friday.
Etti is one of the three Division One League players in Akonnor’s squad which will camp soon for preparations.
According to reports, Six players will be sent home before the final squad is named, but the confident Accra Lions attacker believes he will make the cut.
“I believe I can make it to the AFCON after the pre-tournament tour,” he said. But thank God, and all my friends and teammates for their teammates”
The Black Stars of Ghana will play South Africa before São Tomé in the final games coming up this month.
