With Head coach, Evans Adotey on duty with the Ghana Black Satellites (U-20), having had various roles to play in the team, coach Stephen Abugri had to stand in anytime his boss has been on duties
With 9 games he’s sat on the bench for the league leaders of this year’s Ghana Premier League, Karela United, he’s won 6 games, drawn 1 and lost 2 in those games, such a glamouring numbers and statistics.
With such performance, he deserves to be given a national team duty, this is because he’s one coach who’s got the ability to unearth and develop young players into top players. His player and man management is one of the best we have in the country, hence any of the youth teams in Ghana will do very well under coach Stephen Abugri.

Coach Stephen Abugri as a household name in Ghana Football has coached the above division one teams: Tema All Stars, Tema Kpone fair points, FC Samartex, King Faisal, Okwahu United and Techiman City.
The assistant trainer of Karela United has also previously manage the helm of affairs of the above premier teams: King Faisal, Heart of lions, Medeama and Hearts of oak.
He qualified Dodowa Kpone Bawaleshie from third division to second division,Tema All Stars from second division to first division and King Faisal from first division to premier division by winning all the second round league matches as well as the middle league.
He was appointed the coach of Ghanaman soccer center of excellence in prampram where Thomas Teye Partey, Moses Odjer and Francis Narh were part of the academy when he was a teacher at Tema,he won the Greater Accra U-15 girls inter districts four times consecutively.
He produced Elizabeth Addo,the current captain of black queens, Cynthia Adjei and Tina Adjetey into the female national.
Coach J E Sarpong is his mentor and he is a Cuban trained Ghanaian graduate who speaks Spanish and English.
