Nzema-based Journalists bemoans lack of selection criteria in Black Stars following Diawusie’s exclusion
Nzema-based Sports journalist Samuel Enyan has shown discontent with the lack of selection criteria in the current Black Stars squad, pointing fingers at the Ghana FA.
On Thursday, Akonnor released a 29-man squad which sparked huge controversy among stakeholders in the country.
The former Public Relations Officer for Karela and a couple of Nzema-based Sports Pundits were surprised with some names, they highlighted on the lack of selection criteria, especially Diawusie Taylor’s omission.
“ Am shock how can we give our local players confidence, so this means if you don’t go to abroad you can’t get a call-up, let don’t be tribalist here” Enyan on West End Radio Hard Tackle show.
“ We have not been fare to Taylor, if he’s a Kotoko, Hearts or Dreams FC player, I bet you they would have selected, that’s bad as a country. He added.
In fact we are tired of this team”
“If you look at the remaining players that have been in the team before, only two have had more than 20 caps for the national team. This should tell you that this team is depleted and lack legacy. Only Andre Ayew, Thomas Partey, Jordan Ayew and Kudus are known to be playing at the top level,” Benzyma Benjamin Bonzoh also added.
Ghana are still preparing ahead of next month’s AFCON qualifier against South Africa and São Tomé.
