According to reports we have gathered indicates that, Ghana and RC Strasbourg striker Abdul Majeed Warris is funding the grading of his hometown roads at Lamashegu in Tamale.
According to Tamale online reports, the locals had bitterly complained about the poor nature of the road and the Black star forward who saw their pleas online decided to come to the rescue.
Despite his fame and wealth, Warris clearly hasn’t forgotten his roots.
The 27-year old is well aware of the bad nature and conditions in his hometown Lamashegu.
The road connecting Lamashegu, Nyohani and Sagnarigu has been in deplorable state for several months.
The situation is affecting vehicular movements with large potholes and stagnant water destroying parts of the stretch, amidst the spread of mosquitoes.
Residents of the area revealed that the situation has resulted in several road accidents involving cargo and passenger vehicles plying the route.
A mechanic, Master Karim operating near the NDA warehouse told TamaleOnline News series of accidents have been recorded due to the bad nature of the road.
