AFRICA FOOTBALL: Cameroon star joins Saudi giants
Saudi Arabian giants Al Nassr have announced the signing of Cameroon star Vincent Aboubakar from Besiktas.
Aboubakar, 29, has joined the Saudi Pro League side on a three-year deal after his contract with the Turkish Super Lig giants expired at the end of last season.
“The management of the Saudi Al Nassr Club officially signed with the Cameroonian star Vincent Aboubakar [in] a free transfer deal and with a contract that extends for three years, with best wishes for the success of the international star,” a club statement read.
The Cameroon star joins Al Nassr on the back of a highly successful season in Turkey, where he fired Besiktas to the league title with 15 goals for the campaign.
He arrives in Saudi Arabia on the back of a prolific club career that has seen him turn out for the likes of FC Porto in Portugal and Lorient in France, while he has also bagged an impressive 23 goals in 71 appearances for the Cameroon national team to date.
Aboubakar will be one of three African players on Al Nassr’s books next season, alongside the Moroccan duo of Abderrazak Hamdallah and Nordin Amrabat.
