WRFA DIVISION II: Godfred Sabutey’s double inspires Basake Holy Stars victory over depleted Wages FC
The attacking midfielder was on show to help Holy Stars annex all three points on Wednesday.
Basake Holy Stars registered the biggest win of the Western Regional Football Association Division League, Nzema zone matchday one by a 3:0 triumph over Wages FC.
Godfred Sabutey’s free kick was deflected by Zachariah in the first half, Sabutey scored Holy Stars second from a free kick in the 37th minute before the referee brought proceedings to an end in the first half.
The former Forcies FC midfielder scored his brace in the 68th minute with a beautiful curler to seal the day for the Nyamenle Wua Ye Wu lads.
Sabutey almost registered a hat trick of his own but the goalkeeper of Wages FC pulled off a save to deny the former Dubai based player.
Nazarians FC cruised to a 2:1 victory over Western Master in the opening game at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park in Aiyinasi today.
