WORLD NEWS: More France bust-ups revealed

Following France’s loss to Switzerland in, and exit from, the UEFA European Championship’s round of 16, new reports suggest that a number of Paul Pogba’s teammates blamed him, at least in part, for the defeat.

France had taken a 3-1 lead into the final 15 minutes of that match before the Swiss staged a remarkable late comeback to secure a 3-3 draw and take the tie to extra-time and then penalties, from which they emerged victorious.

According to Get French Football News, however, a number of Les Bleus stars insulted each other during the fixture.

This is said to have begun when midfielders Adrien Rabiot and Paul Pogba swore at one another after the Juventus player made it clear he was unhappy with the Manchester United man’s defensive work rate.

Defenders Varane and Pavard then had a bust-up of their own. The Real Madrid centre-back was said to be upset with the Bayern Munich right-back’s defending, but Pavard apparently insisted that it was Pogba’s fault for not helping out at the back, and both seemingly agreed on this.

As if that was not enough, in the stands, Rabiot’s mother, Veronique, was seen arguing with Mbappe and Pogba’s families about their sons’ roles in the defeat, according to RMC Sport.

Rabiot’s mom is said to have blamed Pogba for losing possession of the ball in the build-up to Switzerland’s vital third goal, and advised Mbappe’s father to teach his son to be “less arrogant”, with these comments understood to have provoked a furious row.

This argument was said to have lasted about 20 minutes before security stepped in to defuse the situation.

Ahead of the tournament, Olivier Giroud and Mbappe were involved in a bust-up after the Chelsea striker insisted his teammates were not passing the ball to him as much as he felt they should during a warm-up match, comments the Paris Saint-Germain star took serious offence to.
