PHOTOS: The Current State of the Axim Sports Complex
As promised by the government to promote sports in the country, the NPP government embarked on building stadia and sports complexes in the West African country.
As said by the then Sports Minister of Ghana, Honourable Isaac Kwame Asiamah and I quote “Axim is blessed to have this edifice which will serve the whole of Western Region”.
According to him, he stated when cutting the sod that the commencement of the facility begins as soon as the sod is caught and that will be finished in nine (9) months time so now we ask, is the stadium forgotten?
Also stated by the minister that the government is committed to the development of the youth in particular and sports in general, we ask the same question, are the youths forgotten?
Currently, the seats and pitch is all but done which are part of the first phase, the tartan track is not close to done.
For about the volleyball, basketball and tennis court, the gymnasium, the ICT centre, entrepreneurship centre and a state of art restaurant which are to be finished as the second phase, there’s nothing like that at the moment.
