Gold Stars on the opening weekend of the 2021/2022 Ghanaian top-flight league campaign recorded a delightful 1-0 win over Berekum Chelsea to bag the first three points of the campaign.
Facing giants Medeama SC today, it was always going to be tough for the newcomers but boy the team did put up a spirited performance.
In a game played at the Tarkwa Akoon Community Park, Medeama SC was fancied to come out with the win.
Despite dominating play in the first half, the home team could not score and had to go into the break on level pegging.
Continuing to push in the second half, Medeama SC finally had the breakthrough in the 81st minute when experienced striker Amed Toure scored with a fantastic effort.
Unfortunately, Medeama SC could not defend the lead as Bibiani Gold Stars scored late in added time through Joshua Akoto to force the match to end in a stalemate.
