Former Barcelona midfielder Ilaix Moriba is in Guinea to finalize his nationality switch from Spain to the country of his birth.
The now RB Leipzig player was born in the capital of Guinea, Conakry, to a Guinean father and a Liberian mother but moved to Spain at a young age.
He has featured five times for Spain’s U-17 side but chose to represent the country of his birth at the senior level.

Though the 18-year-old is not named in Guinea’s squad for their last two World Cup qualifying games against Guinea-Bissau (played yesterday) and Morocco (Tuesday), he was seen dining with the team.
Moriba was in the Guinea camp with his father and agent to go through the necessary formalities before the 2021 Afcon next January in Cameroon.
He is expected to be named in the squad for the Afcon.
