Some senior Black Stars players have been accused of playing a role in Ghana’s abysmal performance at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cameroun where they exited at the group stage.

The said players reportedly influenced Coach Milovan Rajevac’s selection prior to the Stars’ final Group C match with Comoros.

A source close to the Stars confirmed to the Daily Graphic that the team’s line-up was changed three times before kick-off of that particular match.

The source revealed that the initial line-up had Edmund Addo and Philemon Baffour starting the game, but some agitations in camp forced Coach Milo to drop the players.

“The whole thing created confusion in the dressing room and I can tell you that it contributed to the team’s performance in the match against Comoros.

“Some of the players were not happy with the decision and it psychologically affected the team on the field of play,” the source noted.

Ghana’s first round exit was the first time in 16 years after missing out in the first round of the 2006 AFCON in Egypt with three points.

The Stars are scheduled to play the Super Eagles of Nigeria, who were also bundled out by Tunisia at the Round of 16, in a Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup playoff in March
