Mohammed Salisu sets new record in the Premier League this season

Ghanaian-born Southampton defender Mohammed Salisu has set up an impressive statistics in the English Premier League this season.

The 22-year-old has been outstanding for the Saint in the ongoing season featuring 24 times in the Premier League.

Per statistics released by English-based Squawka Football, the Ghanaian star is the only player to make 50 plus tackles and interceptions respectively in the league this season.

The former Real Valladolid star has 61 tackles and 60 interceptions so far in the league and is the only player to achieve it.

Salisu has also won possession more times than any other defender (172) this season.

The enterprising defender is yet to feature for the Black Stars after turning down the opportunity to play at the AFCON 2021.
