They way they live their lives, the products they use, the issues they raise their voices for and the campaigns they lead or donate to, influence their fans.
However, before one digs deep into the life of their favorite footballer, what one naturally tends to notice is the physical appearance of them all.

For some it’s the way they look that stands out, for others it is how they groom themselves that does. One way footballers have been setting trends for generations is through their hairstyles. It is a trend that is easily transmitted from the player to the fans and only adds to the memory.
Footballers are also sometimes known for expressing themselves, be it through their choice of fashion style or through their haircuts.

But sometimes those haircuts do not work out as well as hoped, with stars from the English Premier League, Italian Seria A, French Ligue one and international football being left ridiculed.

Cristiano Ronaldo, Arturo Vidal, Neymar, Mario Ballotelli, Paul Pogba, Wilffed Zaha and co are notable players with those hairstyles.

The trend has also been captured in Ghana, with most players in the GPL having best hairstyles in our fantastic league.

So today, we take a look at top ten footballers with most iconic hairstyles in the just ended 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season which was won by Kumasi Asante Kotoko.

10: Salifu Ibrahim- Hearts of Oak

The former Eleven Wonders midfielder made his blonde hairstyle a trend with his performance in the just ended Ghana football season.
He made major impact for the Phobians despite having less game in the just ended season due to injuries.

Salifu, the talented winger was one of the most exciting and gifted players to play for Hearts of Oak this season.

9: Stephen Amankona- Asante Kotoko

His hairstyle is one of the best in the country.

Kieta’s haircut is considered the deadliest version of any player in the GPL.
He’s known for changing his hairstyle from time to time but this current hairstyle is very special to him.

Famous among this was when he started tying a piece of hair at the back of his head —something that made it look like a pony tail, a hairstyle imitated from the former Black Stars captain and Legend Abedi Ayew Pele in the 1992 Africa Cup of Nations in Senegal.

Kelvin Andoh had a good season with Karela United, wining one GPL POTM award, 5 MOTM awards and earned a call to the Black Galaxies who are currently preparing for the next CHAN qualifies.

1: Solomon Sarfo Taylor- Asante Kotoko

Asante Kotoko’s super forward is an undisputed gent of the game, a player with legal touch on an off the pitch.

He made a few appearances for the reigning Ghana Premier League Champions. The fashionistas without even a glimmer of interest in football will rate the former Karela United player as the best player with iconic hairstyle in the just ended 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season.

Indeed the striker doesn’t joke with his hairstyle since his move to Asante Kotoko.
