The Porcupines scored two quick goals in the first half courtesy of Enoch Morrison and Rocky Dwamena to secure their first victory away from home in 10 games, while Samartex’s eight-game home unbeaten streak was ended despite a late consolation.

If not for a few egregious errors, Annor Walker thinks Samartex would have at least earned a point.

“It’s a painful defeat to me because this is not a match we should have lost. We gave away two cheap goals to Kotoko and I think this has cost me a lot. So it’s really a painful defeat to me,” Walker said.

He however commended Kotoko for their determination from the beginning of the game. He said the plan to get early goals worked perfectly for his opponent.

“They knew it wasn’t going to be easy to play us here so they came well prepared and their game plan worked for them. I saw from the beginning that they sought an early goal which I hinted to my players about. I told them if they were able to hold Kotoko until the end of the first half, we were certainly going to avoid defeat.

However, Kotoko kept attacking which caused us to give away the cheap goals. You could see how we controlled the game in the second half which I think we should have at least levelled the score line but that couldn’t happen,” he added.
