Former Hearts of Oak midfielder Kofi Abanga has raised concerns about the level of commitment among current players of Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko, two of Ghana’s most popular football clubs.
Abanga, who has retired from football football, suggested that the current crop of players in both teams are not fully committed to the cause and may be lacking the necessary passion and dedication to succeed at the highest level.
Asante Kotoko who are the current holders of the title and Hearts of Oak have been unimpressive throughout the 2022/23 league campaign. Both clubs have parted ways with their head coaches and are currently being managed by assistant coaches.
“Current Hearts and Kotoko players are not committed. I was sad whiles watching Hearts of Oak match the last time. Their performance after losing the ball seems there’s nothing at stake. They same thing happened during Kotoko’s game against Olympics. You could clearly see that they are not committed,” Abanga told Ghanasportspage which was monitored by Domesticsportsgh.com.
