Black Stars defender Mohammed Salisu has described Southampton’s relegation from the English Premier League with “immeasurable” disappointment and sadness.
He said this via a post on his Instagram page with Southampton’s slip into the Championship confirmed after The Saints suffered 2-0 loss to Fulham.
With just two games left to play, Southampton has amassed 24 points on the back of winning just six games in 36 appearances this season.
The 24 year old has struggled with injury that ruled him from competing for Ghana in the 2023 AFCON double header against Angola in March.
Despite Southampton conceding 66 goals, Salisu has been a bright spot in the Southampton backline and earned the praise of West Ham forward Michail Antonio who labeled the former Valladolid player as one of the toughest players he played against. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

“I am extremely disappointed that I have not been able to help the team as much I would have liked, despite my injury I’ve been struggling with since February” he stated on Instagram.
Salisu’s impressive performances have attracted interest from teams including Everton.
