Black Stars midfielder Thomas Partey’s future at Arsenal is uncertain as fans have suggested the club could offload him in the summer after appearing to have lost his spot in the starting lineup to Italian midfielder Jorginho.

Partey’s outstanding performance at the start of the season earned him plaudits as one of the best midfielders currently playing in the English top flight alongside Manchester United’s Casemiro.

However, the midfielder has struggled to maintain his initial form in recent weeks eventually leading to a starting berth loss as well as the title struggles of the club.

London-based journalist, Chris Wheatley has hinted that the player’s days at the club could be numbered following his age and recent performances.

“Well we’ve spoken a lot about the midfield area, that is certainly an area Arsenal will want to strengthen, the futures of Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka are a little bit uncertain, Xhaka has been linked back to Germany, Partey, his form has been under pressure in the past few weeks, that’s why Jorginho has come in,” Wheatley revealed to National World YouTube channel

“A few Arsenal fans have suggested Partey could be on his way out, I’ve not heard that line yet, but he is in his late 20s.

“Arsenal will need to let one midfielder go this summer, it could be Xhaka and it could be Partey,” he added.

However, while Xhaka has been linked with a move to the German Bundesliga, Thomas Partey’s current contract runs until 2025.
