After their humiliating defeat to Morocco in their second game on Tuesday, Ghana must beat Guinea in their third group game at the Ibn Batouta Stadium in Tangier to advance to the next stage of the competition.

Guinea on the other hand only need to avoid defeat to proceed given the advantage they hold against Ghana in goal differences.

Nuamah who scored Ghana’s first goal at the tournament in their win over Congo says the team will put their recent defeat behind them and focus on beating their next opponents to qualify.

“I have nothing to say. It’s football, it happens. I think we came with our game plan but it went their way,” he said.

“Our next game is very important. We know that if we don’t win then we don’t qualify. So we are really coming in for it.”

At 8 pm the match will kick off simultaneously on Friday with Morocco’s clash against the eliminated Congo who have already suffered defeats in their two games.

Beyond the qualification from the group, teams will be aiming to take one of the three slots for next year’s Olympic Games to be held in Paris by trying to finish in the top three.

Ghana, who are attempting to make their first appearance at the global showpiece since 2004 in Athens, Greece, recognises the importance of this opportunity and are motivated to seize it.
