The Crosby Awuah Memorial Park, the home of Ghana Premier League side, Karela United, is due to be closed for renovation works ahead of next season’s domestic campaign.
The Director of Operations, Lawrence Saforo Cudjoe, in an exclusive with West End Radio monitored by Domesticsportsgh.com, said the closure is necessary for the club to put the park in good shape to meet the new Ghana Football Association’s standard for Premier League matches.
Most Ghana Premier League centres have been warned to improve their facilities to meet the Venue Inspection Committee requirements.
“We are in talks with our board of directors and some experts, we are hopeful that although it’s a short period, we will be able to do what is necessary to ensure our place remain the Premier League venue”.
“We are also looking for alternatives for other centres if we fail to finish on time”, he added.
Lawrence Cudjoe also gave the assurance that management will ensure that the club stays in Aiyinase to host their home matches.
