Ghanaian winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has been excluded from Sporting Lisbon’s 29-man squad for their pre-season training camp in Algarve. In lieu, he will train with the club’s second squad upon his return from Ghana.
The 19-year old has struggled to establish himself as a regular started, since joining the club in 2022. He has mustered only 12 games for the Lions of Portuguese football and most at times rotated in the lineups.
Rubin Amorim the manager of the club remains unsettled about Issahaku’s role in the first team for the 2023/24 season.
The Green and Whites have received interest from lot of clubs and are willing to let him go for a fee around €15 million with the aim to retain 20% of any future sale.

A sale is preferred over a loan arrangement by the club.
In spite of high expectations upon his acquisition, Issahaku is yet to hit the grounds running with just 118 for the Senior squad but has made glimpse of good outings for the youth side.
It remains to be seen which club, if any, will meet Sporting Lisbon’s demands and secure the services of the promising Ghanaian winger
