My latest survey projected that 52% of division two clubs in the Western Region are backing Hon.Simon Ehomah to be given another term as Regional Football President.
Simon Ehomah’s first term as chairman of the association comes to an end in October, with the WRFA set for elections.
Having been in office in the last four years, 52%( 72) out of the total number of clubs in the Western Region have verbally expressed with the work of the immigration commissioner and they believes he needs another four years to transform the region’s football.
The 17% out of the 140, are clubs from the incumbent’s own Zone( Nzema), with 12% coming from Tarkwa zone, 22 % from the Western North and the remaining percentages spreading across other zones (Sekondi/ Takoradi, Shama, Ahanta West).
We understands that 72 clubs out of 140 reported teams which participated the Western Regional Division Two for the 2022/23 Season have endorsed the nomination forms on behalf of Hon.Simon Ehomah.
It has also been reported that, Hon Simon Ehomah will go unopposed in this year’s elections.
The bankroller of the Division One League side, Basake Holy Stars was elected as Western Region FA boss in October 2019 with 41 votes, followed by James Kainyah with 28 votes and Bismark Owuso Mensah with 26 votes.
He had 41 votes out of the total votes cast in the election and took over the mantle from Kojo Yankah.
