Crosby Awuah Memorial Park, which was the home grounds of Ghana Premier League side, Karela United will soon see massive renovation to become a modern- day edifice, Domesticsportsgh.com can exclusively report.
Having staged Ghana Premier League matches in the past, the facility has been rejected by the Ghana Football Association’s Club Licensing Committee for its poor state.
Earlier this month, the Ghana National Gas Company Limited (Ghana Gas) had a meeting with some individuals and the management of some undisclosed local Sports Consultants over the possible renovation of the park.
The meeting saw the parties discussing the need to give the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park a facelift pending a final meeting between the aforementioned stakeholders.
Domesticsportsgh.com understands, the renovation works will begin as early as possible and completed within 12-16 weeks.
Currently, the facility served as the home grounds for Division One League side, Basake Holy Stars and the club might be forced to adopt a new venue to pave way for renovation.
Meanwhile, Karela United will play their home matches of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season at the Ndoum Sports Stadium in Elmina, as your most reliable portal reported earlier.
