Salman Community has emerged winners of the 2023 Nkrumahfest Community Football Gala, organized by Nkroful Community Development Planning Committee at Nkroful in the Ellembelle District of the Western Region.
They beat host Community on penalties in the finals to emege winners of the competition.
All 9 communities in the catchment area took park in the tournament together with the Kwame Nkrumah’s hometown Nkroful.
The eight were drawn from Asasetre, Mvenlesolo, Tadan, Adubrim, Teleku Bokazo, Anwia, Akango and Salman.
The game was part of the activities by the NCDPC to mark the birthday day of Ghana’s first President Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah to promote peace, unity and togetherness among resident of its catchment communities.
Salman Community received a giant trophy, gold medals, set of jersey, ball and cash prize of Ghc500.00 while Nkroful which placed second received medals, jersey, ball and Ghc300.00.
The main organizer, Dr. Joana Gyan-Cudjoe, incoming Member of Parliament for Amenfi Central after the final game, said the tournament was geared towards the unveiling of talents of the people to improve education for growth and development.
Nana Kwesi Kutuah, chief of Nkroful also congratulated the team and urged them to continue work hard to actualize the dreams, the NCDPC will continue support this initiative to promote talent as well.
