The matchday nine crucial clash between Karela United and Hearts of Oak has been cleared today, Saturday, November 4.
Inform Evans Adomako’s 84th minute penalty miss denied Karela United a precious three points after playing out a 1-1 stalemate with giants Hearts of Oak at the Aliu Mahama Stadium in GPL match-day 9 opener.
The home team didn’t really start on a good note but produced the opener in just six minutes from kickoff through Emmanuel Boakye who headed from Fatawu Mohammed’s long throw.
The visitors nearly came in with a quick response but youngster Hamza Issah had his header saved by goalkeeper Abdul Ganiu.
Kashala Ramos with went past his marker and goes solo but once again his effort was too feeble to go past the goalkeeper.
On the 40th minute, the Phobians got the equalizer through Hamza Issah who connected at a close range from Salifu’s cross to mark his fourth of the season.
In the second half, the two teams made a very good return and charged up at each other resulting into an even exchange in the early stages.
Evans Adomako came so close to restoring their lead but his goal-bound header was checked nicely by Richmond Ayi.
Hearts of Oak also took the game at their hosts and made some decent attempts but mostly struggled to find their way through.
Karela United were awarded a penalty on the 81st minute after Owusu Boakye was brought down by Agbesimah in the box.
The club’s top scorer so far this season Evans Adomako stepped up but his kick was stopped bravely by goalkeeper Richmond Ayi.
It finished 1-1 after full time as Karela United are now winless in their last seven matches.
