Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, Kwesi Nyantakyi, has confessed that he is open to the idea of being Ghana’s Sports Minister.
The documentary on corruption in Ghana football led to Nyantakyi’s resignation from his post as GFA President and was banned by FIFA for life. The ban was reduced to 15 years.
Addressing matters connected to his fledgling mainstream political career, Kwesi Nyantakyi stated that should the New Patriotic Party (NPP) retain power after the 2024 Ghana Presidential and Parliamentary Elections, he will consider working as a Sports Minister should he get the nod.
“When the NPP comes to power and decides to appoint me as Sports Minister, I may consider it. However, if it’s the NDC (National Democratic Congress), then it will be difficult.”
Nyantakyi plans to run for the Parliamentary seat in the Ejisu Constituency on the ticket of the NPP.
