Kamgbungli emerged, by far, the best side of the tournament with a flawless record, which saw them register their recent superiority at the end of Ramadan by zongo communities across Nzema.

In a thrilling one day soccer Festival at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park in Nzema Aiyinase, the most populated Islamic community swept all their opponents aside to lift the trophy for the second time in the tournament’s history.

Kamgbungli won the trophy last year and they made clear their intentions of retaining the trophy in their opening match against Aiyinase, by defeating the host community on penalties to progress to the next stage of the competition.

The late entrants Samenye proved to be the revelation of the tournament after surprising everyone.

But Kamgbungli showed their superiority to beat them in the final by 1-0, a goal scored by the tournament’s most valuable player, Kojo Mahama.

Interestingly, the grand finale was played around 5:30pm with hundreds of fans staying on to watch.

The finals also attracted personalities, including the main sponsor, Hon.Bonzo Ewereko, The Ellembelle FA chairman Muniru Usher, Jomoro FA boss Moro, ASBON President Samuel Enyan, sports icons and representatives of the Nzemamanle chief Imams.

Hon.Bonzoh Ewereko handed over the trophy to the winners and commended organizers of the tournament for the impressive organization of the tournament.

The tournament was supported by a number of media organizations including West End Radio, New Day FM, Nzema FM and Ebiamo FM.
