One of the most intoxicating Premier League qualification race in Division One League Zone Two history is practically the 2023/24 season.
With just 2 matches remaining for each title contender, we are barrelling forward towards a resolution to the type of three way battle that’s exceedingly rare in Ghana’s second tier competition.
There’s never been a season in the Division One League Zone 2 era where three teams went into the final day with a chance to hoist the trophy to represent the zone in next season’s Ghana Premier League.

Basake Holy Stars, Ebusua Dwarfs and New Edubiase, these are three best teams in the zone by an enormous margin.
They are currently the ones with an expected goal difference (+1) per game or greater this season.
The three of them are also on a tear and show no signs of slowing down or dropping any points in the remaining games.

Basake Holy Stars are leading the table with 50 points after 27 games pending a game against Sefwi All Stars and Coach Malik’s men look far more assured and than last season when they set the pace for nearly the entire campaign only to go crumble down the stretch and relinquish to the latter part of the campaign and nearly escaped relegation.
They will face King Faisal on Sunday in an penultimate fixture at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park.
With just two games to go, Dwarfs and New Edubiase have been the most entertaining team of the trio this season.
They create more chances than Basake Holy Stars and have perfect goal differences of +13 and +14 respectively.

The former Premier League sides, are currently lying 2nd & 3rd position with 48 and 47 points respectively.
On paper, Edubiase have the most difficult fixtures.
Edubiase will play host to Asekem this weekend, whiles Ebusua Dwarfs host 6th placed Rospak FC at the Robert Mensah Sports Stadium.

Basake Holy Stars’ task is slightly more forgiving, as their remaining opponents average 39.7 or 10th place, they also have a pending game against Sefwi All Stars which ended abruptly.
A win for the Nzema based club on Sunday will enhance their chances of premier League qualification.

The 2023/24 Division One League season is expected to come to an end next month, where three best teams from each zone qualifying to the next season’s Ghana Premier League.
