A scintillating performance by Menzizor ensured they beat one of the tournament’s favorite Akoto 1-0 to win Aiyinase Zone of the Ellembelle MP’s Cup which ended at the St Theresa’s Vocational Park at Awiaso on Sunday.
The ground finale saw soccer lovers treated to some outstanding football by the two sides.
Both teams started the game on high note with several attempts to take an early lead until Menzizor destroyed the defence of Akoto with some fluid positional play which resulted in penalty and the player converted nicely to give his team the lead in the 82nd minutes.
Menzizor joins Kamgbunli, Asemko, Nkroful, Nzema Akropong, Alabokazo and Anokyi in the top 12 teams for the main tournament.
Aiyinase North Zone takes the lead next week before climaxing the zonal qualifiers at Nyamebekyere for Middle Belt.
