Former Head Coach of Nzema Kotoko Football Club, Sylvester Wiafe, has expressed “frustration” over the club’s slow start of the season and blamed the situation on bad leadership.
In an interactive section with West End Radio “Sports Lecturer ” Riquelme and Bashiru Bukari on October 22, 2024, he disclosed that he left the club on bad notes, frustration and pains all because of the outmoded style of the club’s so-called management board.
” I left the club with pains and zero salary, I was told to step aside without doing anything wrong” I came to meet the current players and decide to work with them but shockingly I was called by the chief of Esiama and told me I have been sacked by the board” he said.
“These are the men who are responsible for the club woes not the coaches” he added.
“Nana Esiama brought a coach ( Mallam Yahaya ) at the training ground and match venues several times”I left the club because of him”, he noted”
Wiafe mentioned bad leadership as the main major issue undermining the progress of the club not the players and coaches.
Sylvester Wiafe joined the team earlier this season following the sacking of Mensah Logosu. Wiafe was replaced by Mallam Yahaya who just left the club after 11 days in charge.
The team is currently occupying 15th on the league log with 1 point after 4 games.
