The Speaker of the Municipal Youth Parliament for Evalue Ajomoro Gwira, Jonas Kabutey has shed light on why he thinks his municipality is not on a par with Ellembelle in the area of sports development.
Kabutey identified backbiting, too much talk and politics as major reasons confronting sports development in the area.
In an interview with Ankobra FM on Monday, he said, Ellembelle has excelled in sports development but Evalue Gwira are not open to helping one another to climb the success ladder.
“In my opinion, and in my municipality when a person is rising above others, then we start talking lil behind their backs which is a “norm” in our area which shouldn’t be. A rise of a man should be a win to all, Our mentality is sickening, just look at Ellembelle MP Armah Kofi Buah and Bonzoh K despite their differences they have transformed the area into one of the best developed districts in the region”, he said.
” We hardly support each other, and the chiefs and government officials see that, no unity whatsoever, it’s written all over our space and that’s sad!, the reason why Axim Sports Complex has been delayed since 2018″, he added.
He highlighted on Ankobra FM monitored by Domesticsportgh.com, he revealed the need for a “unified” to bring back sports development in the area.
“Any sensible leader, looking at where the municipality is today, should recognize that we need a national development plan everyone can rally around, so let’s all come together and push government to complete Axim Sports Complex and 0.9Km Brawire road before December 7,” he added.
The Youth Parliament Speaker has previously demonstrated against the government over the stalled Axim Sports Complex which has not been completed since 2018.
