The Member of Parliament for Ellembelle, Hon.Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah has officially launched Ellembelle MP’s Cup Final Competition on Sunday at the Matilda Hall.
The highly anticipated Ellembelle MP’s Cup is set to kick off on Monday, November 18, 2024. A vibrant energy filled the air on Sunday as representatives from the 12 participating communities gathered at the Matilda Hall inside Aya Community Centre for a colourful balloting ceremony, marking the official start of the competition.
The competition organized by Hon.Armah Kofi Buah, the majority leader of Ghana’s Parliament and Parliamentary Candidate for NDC in Ellembelle Constituency, promises to be a celebration of community spirit, athleticism and cultural diversity.
With teams representing a diverse range of neighborhoods and backgrounds, the event is sure to be a showcase of talents.
This football gala is more than just a competition, Hon.Armah Kofi Buah stated, highlighting the event’s goal of unearthing talents, promoting sports, development in the constituency and fostering unity and understanding among the communities.
“It’s a platform for fostering connections, building friendships, and celebrating what brings us together”.
He also mentioned the presence of local and foreign football scouts at the venue on every matchday.
The inter community Football fiesta is a testament to the power of sports and community, promising to be an unforgetable experience for all involved.
It will also create a temporary source of income for various vendors across the different fields.
This event will commemorate a decade of impactful community service and his dedication to making a difference through football.
Each of the 12 teams received an appearance fee of GHC1,000. The winner of the competition will receive a cash amount of GHC8,000, set of jersey, while the runner up will receive a cash amount of GHC4,000, third place GHC2,000 and fourth place Ghc1,000.00
The tournament kicks start on Monday with an opening game between Nkroful and Alabokazo.
