The Ghana Health Service launches a mass vaccination campaign against cholera from December 15 to 19 in four MMDAs in the Western Region.
The Ghana Health Service is set to undertake a mass vaccination campaign against the spread of cholera from Monday, December 15 to Thursday, December 19, within four MMDAs in the Western Region.
The decision follows the growing number of cholera cases and deaths being recorded in parts of the country especially in the Western and Central Regions.
Already, eight MMDAs in the Western Region have been hit with the outbreak, with 908 cases and 10 deaths recorded.
A little over 600, 000 residents two years and above, excluding pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers in the Shama Municipalities, Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis, Ahanta West and Effia-Kwesimintsim are expected to be reached for the exercise.
