Anthony Nana Amissah Arthur, a prominent broadcast journalist and Head of Sports at West 89.7 FM in Elubo, has resigned after seven years within the station.

MY RESIGNATION ANNOUNCEMENT

After 7-years 10-months enriching years at West 87.9FM, I Tony Nana Ayiwa Amissah Arthur (Tony The Sports Lighter) having served earnestly, formally write to inform you of my resignation, effective 31st December 2024.

My experience at West FM has been truly remarkable. Since I became a part of the team in 2017, I have been fortunate to develop both my career and personal skills under outstanding guidance.
I want to sincerely thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Idun, for your inspiring guidance and the trust you have shown in me during my time here. To our respected General Manager Mr Emmanuel Adu Obeng, I extend my appreciation for your unwavering support.

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to our Programs Manager Nana Boadi, whose confidence in my capabilities has enabled me to make significant contributions to our station’s programming.

I also wish to express my appreciation to our Marketing Manager and brother Rashid Mohammed (Alhaji Wan) for the spirit of collaboration and the many successful campaigns we have undertaken together. Your strategic perspective has imparted invaluable knowledge regarding the operations of the media business.

To my esteemed colleagues at WEST FM—the presenters, producers and the support staff—I am thankful for the camaraderie, teamwork, and friendship we have cultivated over the years. The memories we have created together will always hold a special place in my heart.

To my dedicated and loyal listeners, I express my deepest gratitude. Your support has been truly magical.

West FM has transcended the role of a mere workplace; it has become my second home. The skills, experiences, and relationships I have developed here are invaluable, and I will carry them with me into my future endeavors.

Thank you once again for making my 7years 10months at West FM an extraordinary journey.
