At the summit of the rankings is Egypt’s Nile League, which retains its status as Africa’s strongest league, reflecting the sustained dominance of Egyptian clubs in continental competitions and their consistent domestic standards. Clubs such as Al Ahly and Zamalek have continued to raise the bar through strong CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup performances, reinforcing Egypt’s position at the top.

Close behind in second place is Morocco’s Botola Pro, whose rise in recent years has been fueled by the continental success of clubs like Wydad Casablanca, RS Berkane, and Raja Casablanca. Morocco’s investment in infrastructure, youth development, and club licensing continues to pay dividends on both domestic and African stages.

South Africa’s Betway Premiership completes the top three, underlining the league’s commercial strength, competitiveness, and tactical evolution. The consistent presence of clubs such as Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates in CAF competitions has played a key role in maintaining South Africa’s high ranking.

Elsewhere, Algeria (4th) and Tunisia (5th) further emphasize North Africa’s dominance in the continental hierarchy, while Tanzania’s NBC Premier League (6th) stands out as one of the fastest-rising leagues in Sub-Saharan Africa, driven largely by the progress of Young Africans (Yanga) and Simba SC.

The Democratic Republic of Congo (7th), Mali (8th), Angola (9th), and Ivory Coast (10th) round out the top ten, highlighting the growing competitiveness and depth across different regions of the continent.
