In-form Richard Zumah bags brace in San Pedro win over SOA in Abidjan
FC San Pedro got off to a great start for the SuperDivision 2021. Indeed, in the inaugural match for this second phase of Ligue 1, the Islanders team dominated the SOA (2-0), at the Robert Champroux stadium in Marcory, this Sunday 06 June 2021. The two achievements of the “Petruciens” bear the stamp of his Ghanaian international striker, Richard Agbalegah Zumah (47th and 56th).
With this convincing victory, FC San Pedro gives a serious warning to its competitors for the title race.
As for the SOA, it must now fight hard to get points so as not to miss its objective which is to regain its crown lost last season for the benefit of Racing Club d’Abidjan.
This big shock of the inaugural day of the SuperDivision kept its promises in front of the beautiful audience of the Robert Champroux stadium in Marcory.
But, each team has had its period of domination.
In the first half, SOA produced a smoother game. However, she stumbles on the team block of FC San Pedro. The two protagonists therefore part with a goalless draw at the end of the first 45 minutes (0-0).
In the second half, the Petruciens present a brighter face. And, a small minute was enough for him to take control of the game. Richard Agbalegah Zumah takes advantage of a mess in the defense of the SOA to open the scoring (1-0, 47th).
Billel Hassen’s colts added to the bill before the hour mark. Richard Zumah, on a penalty obtained by Wayou Constant, signed his personal double (2-0, 56th).
The score will not change until the final whistle from Referee Traoré Khalilou. FC San Pedro won and made a good operation for the title race.
