Ghana Premier League is the 17th richest league in Africa according to our previous data captured on October 7, 2023 and it would come as a huge surprise to learn that, the 2023/24 season prize money will be the highest since competition’s inception in 1958.

Regardless of where a club finishes in the league, they are guaranteed to earn around GHC20,000 from the initial amount GHC1.5M which was announced before the 2023/24 Season.

Along with other packages which they will benefit through commercial deals, for the very first time the GPL clubs are also awarded prize money based on where they finish in the league.

Ghana Football Association (GFA) increased the prize money of Ghana Premier League to Ghc500,000, this is more than a 70% increase from the GHC300,000 received as winners in the last season league won by Medeama SC.
