Ghana captain Dede Ayew on the move
Ghana captain Andre Ayew is set to become a free agent after reaching the end of his contract with Swansea City.
EFL Championship side Swansea have confirmed that star forward Ayew is one of four players who will leave the club at the end of the month, alongside Kieron Freeman, Declan John and Barrie McKay.
The 31-year-old Ghana international was the Swans’ leading goalscorer across the previous two seasons and departs the Liberty Stadium having scored 47 goals in 139 appearances across his two spells at the club.
According to BBC Sport, Swansea’s decision to part ways with Ayew follows the club’s failure to secure promotion to the Premier League, with the Welsh outfit narrowly missing out on a return to the top flight after a play-off final defeat to Brentford.
While the club won’t be returning to the Premier League, the former Olympique Marseille ace may well feature in the competition next season as he has been linked with a reunion with his brother Jordan Ayew at Crystal Palace.
