Godfred Odametey: Meet the new Karela United midfielder set to thrive the Ghana Premier League
The Ghana Premier League is not like we know in some decades back due to some poor management, poor infrastructures and fanatics love for the foreign league instead. However in recent times, football people are putting in place measures to throw our local football on the map again.
For those who follow the Ghana Premier League this season, you must have seen the young Godfred Odametey who is now becoming a gemstone in the heart of the Karela United midfield.
The 21- year old graduated from Attram De Visser Soccer Academy in his Homeland and joined Accra Great Olympics before moving to the Nzema based Premier League giants Karela United in the second round of the transfer window.
The tailor-measured midfielder is an intelligent, physically strong, mobile, aggressive and a hard tackling guy with an extremely high work-rate and combines his play to provide balance to his team by supporting his offensive minded teammates (Umar Bashiru, Evans Sarfo and Boakai Sando Junior) defensively, and possesses a powerful shot from outside the penalty area.
His presence in the absence of Sadiq Alhassan has added a huge lift to the midfield of the Passioners which his deputy coach Prince George Koffie has termed his performance as Awesome.
