Paul Pogba recently took to Guinea and received a hero’s welcome when he arrived on shore.
The Frenchman has spent a lot of time in the limelight recently after confirming his departure from Manchester United and it appears that he is likely to return to Juventus in the coming days.

However, before the star makes his next move, he returned to the African country that his brothers represent. Many people are not aware that Pogba’s parents are from Guinea which meant that the 28-year-old was eligible to play for the nation before France snapped him up.

Upon his arrival in Conakry, large crowds gathered to greet the player with some holding posters featuring Pogba and his mother. It is said that some people travel a far distance just to see the footballer in the rural town Pela, which is the birth village of Pogba’s father.

The star also issued some words of encouragement for the people in Guinea.
“We only want peace, respect and progress. We also want Africa to be like Europe, moving forward because we also have this wealth, we have a lot of love and joy. That’s why we also want to move forward. So peace, peace, peace is needed.”
