Hon.Nii Lante Vanderpuye has revealed that, he will do massive changes in Ghana Football if President Mahama appoint him as Sports Minister.
In an interview with Joy Sports, Vanderpuye, the former Minister of Youth and Sports, pledged to reform Ghanaian football if given the opportunity to serve again.
“If I become the Minister of Sports in 2025, I will sanitise the system. I am not happy with the current state of things in our football. A lot is going wrong, and unless we take bold steps to clean up the system and make decisions that benefit players and genuine football stakeholders, the sport will not grow”.
He emphasised the need to ensure that those who invest in football—both financially and emotionally—reap the rewards of their efforts, rather than exploitative individuals.
The people who play the game, invest their money, and dedicate their time deserve to benefit from it, not those who treat footballers and stakeholders like poultry chickens, ready to be picked for stew and soup whenever they please. That will not happen under my watch.
As a former footballer and sportsman, Vanderpuye vowed to fight against exploitation and create an environment where athletes and stakeholders can thrive.
